Was this summer a time for you to cast envious glances at neighbours and friends as they packed up their brand new touring caravan for a few weeks of carefree holidays at home or abroad?
Did it reach a pitch where you determined to upgrade your own? Or perhaps you’ve already been initiated in the many and varied joys of the pastime and want to invest in a new model?
The good news is that there are still a handful of caravan shows scheduled for the remainder of this year, where you can shop around and see what’s on offer – whilst bearing in mind the need for suitable tourer insurance, of course.
Everything kicks off with an especially busy 2nd to the 3rd of September.
2nd and 3rd September: UK Autumn Motorhome and Caravan Show
This is an annual event held in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, showcasing caravans and motorhomes and club rallies for both day and weekend visitors.
2nd and 3rd September: The Caravan Extravaganza, East Yorkshire
As part of the The Lawns and Beaulieu Shows for 2017, this event is hosted by the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire Caravan Manufacturers’ Association in its display of some 130 new touring caravans and 150 static holiday homes
22nd to 24th September: The Caravan Extravaganza, Beaulieu, Hampshire
Just two weeks later, and hosted by the same Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire Caravan Manufacturers’ Association for the benefit of visitors from the south of England is a second event, at The Lawns, Beaulieu, which focuses on static holiday homes only (no touring caravans on display).
8th to 10th September: Southwest Motorhome Show, Bath and West Showground
2017 sees the first year of the show here and is principally designed for motorhome enthusiasts. But the Caravan and Motorhome Club is also represented and offers free 20-minute caravan towing sessions to visitors.
22nd to 24th September: Motorhome Show Season Finale, Lincolnshire Showground
If you are interested in the launch of the new season’s motorhomes for 2018, together with a wide range of accessories for both campers and caravaners, this show at Lincolnshire Showground also offers a range of daytime activities and entertainment.
29th September to 1st October: Malvern Caravan Show, Three Counties Showground

17th to 22nd October: The Motorhome and Caravan Show, NEC, Birmingham
Probably the most extensive exhibition of touring caravans, static caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes you are likely to visit in 2017 is the annual extravaganza which fill all 11 of the exhibition halls at Birmingham’s massive NEC complex.
10th to 12th November: Travelworld 2018 Model Sales Extravaganza Event, Teford Shropshire
