British Car Auctions (BCA) has said that it increasingly sees people wanting to purchase caravans at its events, as environmental issues become more important to Brits, according to Easier Motoring.
BCA’s Measham centre holds auctions every month and typically around 75 caravans and motorhomes will be featured among the lots including models from ABI, Abbey, Ford, Lunar, Coachman, Bessecar, Elddis, Newmar and Swift, Easier Motoring reports.
Auctions always see a lot of bidders and around 90 per cent of single and twin axle caravans and range of motorhomes will sell to both people who already own a caravan looking for a deal and people new to caravanning.
“Caravanning offers a great value holiday solution for anyone wanting to get away,” said BCA’s Tim Naylor. “We see buyers coming from far and wide to our dedicated caravan and motorhome sales and we are expecting a big turnout for our next sale at our Measham centre on 10th August.”
All auctions are held undercover and are sold from a mobile rostrum. Caravan fans can view the lots on the day or can order a catalogue in advance to browse a range of vehicles of all ages, models and makes.
Mr Naylor said: “The first piece of advice we would give budding caravan buyers is to set a firm budget and do some research on what they require before visiting a sale.”
He added: “If you intend towing your purchase home, remember it is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and is correctly and safely hitched.”
Successful bidders should always take out caravan insurance or motorhome insurance to cover their purchase. At Cover4Caravans our motorhome insurance offers new for old vehicle replacement if your vehicle is less than one year old and our touring caravan insurance offers new for old cover for caravans that are under five years old.
