Caravanning Checklist

Never forget a thing again when going on your trip. Just follow the handy checklist below and you’ll be prepared for anything!

Caravan checklist

  • Number plate – it is now a legal requirement to have a number plate on the back of your caravan.
  • Caravan step
  • Towing mirrors
  • Containers for water and wastage
  • Stabiliser
  • Caravan leisure battery
  • Wheel clamp and hitch lock
  • Submersible pump – if you don’t have on board water containers
  • Torch
  • First aid kit – check all the contents are up to date and not expired
  • Face masks (note that in some countries you will need a specific type of face mask)
  • Hand sanitiser and disinfectant
  • Fire extinguisher – dry powder between 600g and 1kg in capacity
  • Smoke alarm and spare battery
  • Gas bottles
  • Spare bulbs
  • Caravan jack
  • Tool kit
  • Mains electric hook up lead

  • Awning and groundsheet
  • Curtains
  • Windbreak
  • Annexe and inner tent
  • Sun canopy and poles
  • Pegs

Personal checklist

  • Clothes
  • Toiletries – shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, female products and toilet roll
  • Medication
  • Sun cream/after sun
  • Ant powder
  • Camera
  • Phone and camera chargers
  • Hats, glasses
  • Hair dryer
  • Hair brush
  • Make up
  • Fans – if its going to be hot
  • Basic food – tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sauces, pasta, cereal and tinned foods
  • Passport – if necessary
  • Picnic mats
  • Tin opener
  • Bottle opener
  • Matches/lighter
  • Kitchen roll
  • Cutlery and dishes etc
  • Extra blankets – to sit on or under if the night turns cold.
